Frequently asked questions.
What types of clients do you work with?
I specialize in working with women, age 16 and up, who are navigating life transitions such as grief, divorce, relationships with aging or narcissistic parents, and self-esteem challenges.I also support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and stress. I also help clients with mental performance and confidence in personal or professional settings.
What is equine-assisted therapy, and do you offer it?
Equine-assisted therapy is a unique approach where we partner with horses to support personal growth, self-awareness, and emotional healing. You don’t need any riding experience to participate — sessions are done on the ground and focus on connection, awareness, and confidence.
Equine Sessions will be coming soon for individual equine-assisted therapy sessions, and I’ll also be hosting workshops soon. These workshops will explore themes like boundaries, relationships, and calming the nervous system.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I accept BCBS, Aetna, NC State Health Plan. I also offer private-pay options for those who prefer not to use insurance. If you’re unsure whether your plan is covered, I’m happy to help you check.
What is your session fee?
My standard session rate is $140 per session.
How long are sessions?
Most sessions are 50 minutes. Occasionally, sessions may be shorter or run past the hour.
How often will I need to come to therapy?
Most clients start with weekly sessions to build momentum and consistency. Over time, we may move to every other week as progress is made. Frequency depends on your needs and goals.
How do I know if therapy is working?
You may notice small shifts first — feeling less “stuck,” having more tools to handle stress, or catching negative thought patterns sooner. Progress can look like increased self-confidence, setting healthy boundaries, or feeling more at peace with life’s challenges.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! I offer both in-person sessions at my Mooresville office and secure virtual sessions for clients anywhere in North Carolina.
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you hope to gain. You don’t need to have everything figured out — we’ll work together to create a path forward.
How do I get started?
You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation call with my intake coordinator through https://www.unbridledlkn.com/letschat. This gives us a chance to connect, answer your questions, and make sure we’re a good fit.
