Starting therapy shouldn't feel like one more hard thing.
If you're thinking about reaching out, you've probably been carrying a lot for a while. Here's exactly what happens from your first message to your first session, so nothing feels like a surprise.
1. A free 15-minute consultation
We'll talk by phone or video about what's going on and what you're hoping for. You can ask us anything (about how we work, insurance, scheduling, or whether we're the right fit). If we're not, we'll help you find someone who is.
2. We check your benefits
If you're using BCBS, Aetna, MedCost, or the North Carolina State Health Plan, we'll look up your coverage before your first session so you know what to expect. Self-pay sessions are $140, and we can provide superbills for out-of-network reimbursement.
3. A little paperwork
You'll get a secure email from our client portal with intake forms. They take about 15 minutes, and you can fill them out from your phone.
4. Your first session
We'll spend this time getting to know you (or your child) and what you want to work on. You don't need to have the right words or a plan. That's what we figure out together.
5. In person or online, your choice
Sessions are in our Mooresville office or online from anywhere in North Carolina. Many clients mix both.
For parents
For kids and younger teens, we usually meet with you first or for part of the first session, so we understand the whole picture. We'll talk about how you'll stay involved while still giving your child their own space.
